Set up Family Sharing

You can set parental controls up through Family Sharing for easier management:
• Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Family Sharing > Screen Time.
• Follow the instructions to add your child’s device to your family group.


Enable Screen Time

• Open Settings on the child's iPhone.
• Scroll down and tap on Screen Time.
• Tap Turn On Screen Time.
• Tap Continue, then choose This is My Child's iPhone.


Set a Screen Time Passcode

• You'll be prompted to set a passcode for Screen Time. This ensures that only you can change
the settings.
• Choose a passcode and make sure your child doesn't know it.
• (Optional) You can also enter your Apple ID for recovery if you forget the passcode.


Content & Privacy Restrictions

• In the Screen Time settings, tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
• Turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions.
• Here, you can control app installations, purchases, and which apps are allowed.


Restrict Content

You can limit what type of content your child can access based on their age. Tap Content
Restrictions
to set restrictions on:
Ratings for movies, music, TV shows (based on age-appropriate ratings).
Apps (limit access to age-appropriate apps).
Web Content (restrict access to adult websites or limit to only allowed websites).
Game Center settings for multiplayer games and friend access.


App Limits

You can set time limits on specific apps or categories of apps (e.g., social media, games):
• Tap App Limits.
• Select Add Limit.
• Choose categories or individual apps.
• Set daily limits for each app or category.


Downtime

You can schedule times when the phone will be mostly unavailable (e.g., during homework or
bedtime):
• Tap Downtime.
• Set a schedule for when the iPhone will be off-limits (except for apps you allow).


Communication Limits

You can control who your child can communicate with and when:
• Tap Communication Limits.
• Choose During Screen Time or During Downtime.
• Set communication to specific contacts or only people in their address book.


Always Allowed Apps

Some apps (like Phone or Messages) can always be accessible, even during
Downtime or App Limits:
• Tap Always Allowed.
• Choose which apps your child can use at all times.
