What is a Digital Rebel?

When we use the term “Digital Rebel", we refer to someone (often a younger GEN-Z or GEN-A individual) who consciously challenges or resists the digital norms and behaviours that have somehow become ingrained in their everyday life. We use this term mainly in relation to using social media, smartphones and the battle towards Big Tech and their addictive algorithms.

FlippGen Digital Rebels are leading the charge in changing their and their peers digital habits to spend less time on social media or their smartphone, and are embracing a form of digital rebellion. They are rejecting the idea of constant connectivity and the pressure to be always online, opting instead for a more mindful, balanced approach to technology.

This "rebellion" is not about rejecting technology entirely but about creating boundaries and choosing more intentional ways to engage with it. At FlippGen we believe in “know tech, not no tech”. This desire often comes from wanting to reclaim time, improve mental well-being, or escape the often toxic pressures and distractions that come with being constantly plugged in.

A Digital Rebel feels a sense of empowerment in taking control of their relationship with technology, resisting societal pressures that encourage excessive screen time, and redefining what it means to have a meaningful, balanced digital life.

We hope you join us on our Digital Rebellion journey. Remember: if you do need to scroll, always be in control.
